In school, we study and learn ‘facts’. Often we don’t go through the process of making something relevant. Some kids have trouble through school because of that – they fail to see the relevance of what they are learning compared to what they are passionate about. A lot of people of learn Newton’s law but not everyone know how to apply it to their advantage when it gets to body mechanics.

Most of you are aware of the stimulus-response model and it is pretty straight forward. However, most of us fail to really make use of these facts. Here is an example of how they fine tune it for the purpose of telemarketing (or whatever):

We all know that in martial arts, you try to shortcut the decision process so that you can react immediately to an aggressive stimulus. So what is good for one purpose can be bad for another. To be able to map when-to-do-what, you have to classify the goals/objectives.

Try to wear different hats and describe possible categories of objectives where the common (or your personal) stimulus/response doesn’t work well at all:
– as source of stimulus
– as respondent

Still no locations for the upcoming Tuesday training. Is everybody working this week or most of you taking the week off? Just wondering if doing something during daytime works. Email me.
