Darryl sent me this link last week and asked what makes a hit a KO?

The funny part is that I asked him a question back and the conversation went on and off for a few days. Yes, I could have given anybody else a simple non-relevant answer. However, Darryl is my student and therefore I want him to actively participate in the process of finding an answer. Yes, I know it is frustrating but I do that to my daughters too. I do that because I care and want them to learn. In my world, there are no bad answers. It is bad only when you are too worried about right or wrong to even raise it as a possibility.

One of my observation is that for 135 pounds and lower, there seems to be less KO in any discipline. Furthermore, to me, MMA at that weight class or lower seems to have even less KO than Muay Thai fights. Why?
