“Ice is just a bunch of frozen water. Like water in a stream, sometimes it’s fast, sometime slow. You have to work with the flow to make the most of it, whereas if you fight the curent, all you do is waste energy.” ……Clara Hughes in her book Open Heart, Open Mind.

At the peak of her carrier, Clara learns to accept the state of her body instead of getting worried, frustrated or mad; be at peace with trying her best without worrying about how others did; celebrating and embracing the journey instead of stressing over placement. That state of mind, paired with all the hard work leading up to the event gave her peace and happiness and as a bonus her medals and accomplishments.

The word flow is kind of abstract to some people and may indeed mean different things to different people under different context. Sometimes we use the word flow to mean always moving and adapting without missing a beat. Sometimes we use it to describe unforced motions.
